Educators and Parents

A healthy school environment can result in greater academic achievement, healthier students and school staff.
For The Educator

Saving Lives at School

Students across the country are getting active, learning about health and raising money to fight heart disease. And they’re having fun, too, in both the Kids and American Heart Challenges.

NFL PLAY 60

The American Heart Association and the National Football League (NFL) teamed up with a goal to get kids physically active and improve their overall health. We’re working to ensure every child, everywhere is moving with flexible, turnkey resources including our NFL PLAY 60 app and digital experiences.

Teaching Gardens®

Teaching Gardens address the healthy eating challenges facing our nation’s children and families through school and community gardens. The program provides resources, curriculum, and education that makes growing and eating nutritious foods fun – creating healthy habits that stick with kids for life.

Early Childcare Education

Formerly known as Healthy Way to Grow, early childhood programs (serving children from birth through age five) help to improve and sustain policies and best practices in nutrition, physical activity, screen time, infant feeding, sleep habits, staff wellness, and family engagement.

Kids Health Initiatives

We are helping create healthier futures for America’s youth by improving nutrition security, increasing engagement in regular physical activity, helping end tobacco use and supporting resiliency.
